Hallo, my December holiday I spent in Sierra Leone. Google the place and you will realize there's not much info and almost nothing about spearfishing. The travel was hard and I decided against the speedboat approuch (well don't have enough money), between hiking and kayaking I finally reached my destination and started scouting for spearfishing spots. Long story short I found a good spot after 7 days went into the water shot a few nice fish. And then I shot a nice 15kg+ fish, it went into a shipwreck (secret spot) and I lost my spear. Holiday ended with extreme dissappointment, mad at myself and all the rest.

I think there's loads of fish the viz is not great and I could not find 1 reef, with that said, if you go in season (August, September, November) you might get some Tarpon, I saw 1 and almost fell on my back. I will not shoot that with my 90cm gun.

Love to hear from people thats done spearfishing in Sierra Leone, I'm going back in December with more heavy dutie equipment.

Nice fish!!!! I think Jeremy Williams did a recce there, to see the viability of tourism there, I think it was on a DVD, it was on a DVD called Guinea Pigs, they saw monster barracuda, and tons of other great fish, speak to Jeremy or get the DVD,
