Hi Warren,

The fishermen were all getting fish on Doodles in the early morning. We got one cuda of 7 kilos thereabouts in 14 metres of water, and lost a bigger fish right close to the launch site, just off the inside of the point in 11 metres.

We released a yellowspot kingy of about 10 kilos caught in 30 odd metres straight off the point, think it was on a reef called Atlantis?

We hooked the one wahoo just on the outside of Bass city, and the big one was in 18m of water just north of Malongane point around a school of small kawa kawa.

Diving we shot small cuda on Bass city in 18 - 19 metres, there were quite a lot there, and my mate missed a wahoo there as well. I did two drifts on the Pinnacles and lost a nice big wahoo there.

A fisherman I spoke to at Malongange said they lost a good kingfish on popper at G-spot about 5 miles north of Malongane, and a guy on a jetski landed a saily also just off Malongange.

Hope it helps.

Cheers,

Tony

Does anyone have any experience with putting a small engine on the side of a c-ski 440? I have a 40hp yammie on the back and I would like to put a 2hp seagull engine that I inherited on the side. It won't take you anywhere fast, but if the engine cuts then the engine would be able to slowly take you home. The torque on that thing is amazing! Anyway the engine is super light.

I know weight distribution could be an issue, but is there a common way that guys counterbalance it when they do this?

I bought mine in Struisbaai and have since put a console on it. The previous owner Marius gave it more stability by putting foam on the sides and at the stern of the boat. Essentially I think he was trying to make it as wide as the 444.

I'd have to take some of the foam of the stern to mount the engine, but I'd like to hear your opinions before I consider doing that.

Here's a pic of the boat shortly after I put the console on. I can't wait until she's ready this week
