I have never worn a Cressi suit, but have heard the guys talk alot about them. When Daniel Gospic was here for the test at the beginning of the year he had one of the those chicle Cressi Team suits and it looked awesome. It looked super thin though, so not ideal for our conditions.

Seriously though Corrie, what do you reckon about plain black chicle wetsuits for blue water hunting? I was always under the impression that Camo was better all round. I recently bought a plain black suit from Shane at Freedivers due to what I heard.
Personally, I think cammo is a fad (not FAD!!!) and that it just looks good. Several factors lead to a succesfull hunt of fish, the diver demeanour in the water being the most important.
I shot 2 10kg+ Kaakap on Protea wearing black suits. And there are very few fish more skittish than Kaakap.
Marlin and other pelagics flash blue to confuse prey so if anything the blue open water cammo will attract pelagics much the same way as a flasher. The fish probably think your are eating something and they pop in for look to see if they can get part of the action.
Omer and Sporasub have just released "3D" cammo suits which are basically photo's of reef structure printed on the lining on the outside of the suits. Elios was the first to "paint" the cammo on the chicle suits and again, I think this was purely aesthetics.

Corry, I have been down there with you on Protea when you hunting those Kakaap..... You are down there for so long it doesn't matter what colour your wetsuit is those Kakaap will always come in on you. After 2 mins they think you are part of the reef. Even though the Elios painted camo is aesthetics it still looks pretty cool down there at 32m.....

For me, camo wetsuits and fancy fishing lures do the same thing...catch fisherman and spearos in stores and don't make too much difference once out at sea...
just my 5 cents worth.

There is always discussion as to whether camo works or not. All I can say is that rockcod are not plain black. It must make a difference if you lie on the bottom.
Midwater predators seem to use countershading a lot. Edward Hayman once told me that he felt that bluewater patterns acted as a lure for cuda rather than camo. Maybe reflecting more blue light increases the distance you are visible to curious predators.
Whatever the reality, it would be a pity to go the way of Henry Ford - "The customer can have any colour so long as it is black!"
